The Smiles from Nicholas Foundation is focused on Cerebral Palsy and Pediatric Cancer. It seems like an odd match, doesn’t it? But there are a couple similarities…
First, Nicholas Rydzynski, whose smile this foundation is in memory of, struggled with both of CP for all 4 years of his life, and Neuroblastoma (A form of Pediatric Cancer) for 10 months of his life. His smile, his spirit, bonded this disease and disability together forever.
Secondly, CP and Pediatric Cancer are two of the least funded challenges facing our kids! The result is limited advancements. CP has not had a significant advancement in decades. Pediatric Cancer has seen some improvements, but overall, 1 in 4 kids diagnosed with a Pediatric Cancer dies.
It doesn’t have to be that way! And we’re working to make sure that those who live with CP, and those who battle cancer in the future – don’t face what we did with Nicholas.

The loss of a loved one is not easy. Smiles from Nicholas is thankful for supporters who have donated to our cause in memory of their lost family member, friend or co-worker.

Grant Requests
At the end of each calendar year we will issue two research grants. One grant for Cerebral Palsy Research and one grant for Pediatric Cancer Research.
If you are interested in being considered for one of these two grants and your research project fits into the strategy of Smiles from Nicholas, please contact us.

The Smiles from Nicholas Foundation was started in remembrance of Nicholas Rydzynski, and his struggles with Cerebral Palsy and Pediatric Cancer. In his 4 short years, Nicholas endured so much, but endured with dignity, grace, courage and persistence that any would envy. His struggle ended on September 11th, 2006, after a 4 year struggle with Cerebral Palsy, and a 10 month battle with Neuroblastoma (Pediatric Cancer). more info
